Animal Art: Exploring Texture and Pattern
Ages 4 and 5
Tuesday, 3-5pm
Instructor: Maral Pugh
8 classes, $100

In this class children will explore texture and pattern in the animal world.  We will draw inspiration from the stripes on a tiger's fur, the rough and bumpy lines of elephant skin, and the vibrant patterns of bird feathers.  Children will have the opportunity to participate in instructor assisted research of their own favorite animals, as well as enhance their interest through puppet making, storytelling, and acting.

Creature Creations: Animal Adaptations
Ages 6-8
Wednesday 3:30-5:30pm
Instructor: Maral Pugh
8 classes, $100

In this class children will explore animals and their defensive adaptations, such as a chameleon using camouflage, the hard shell of a turtle, or insects that resemble sticks and leaves.  Students will work closely with the instructor to research animals both individually and as a group and then work on both 2D and 3D creations representing their discoveries.  Children will have the opportunity to use a variety of art materials and assist in the planning and execution of projects based on their own interests.

Broadway Boogie Woogie: The Intersection of Art and Music
Ages 4 and 5
Thursday, 10am-12noon
Instructor: Benares Angeley
8 classes, $100

In this class students will explore many different styles of music as related to art making
processes.  Learn about lines and shapes while listening to boogie woogie music, create colorful collages to jazz, and invent your own creative musical instruments.  We will do lots of listening, moving, making, and creating!
